Flights and land trasport

The capital of Chile,  Santiago, is the front gate for all the atractions that our country offers. If you come from abroad you must make a flight reservation from Santiago to El Loa airport in the city of Calama, Atacama Region.

This trip takes like 2 hours, once  in the calama airport Kunza will provide, for All inclusive programs, the land transport to the hotel in an our and a half trip. 

Temperatures

Average winter temperatures (June, July y Agoust): 22 °C during the  day and 4 °C by night (Blue sky all over the year).
Average summer temperatures (January, February, March): 30º during the day  16 °C by night (rainy sometimes).
If you are planning to visit Geysers del Tatio, be prepared to face under zero temperatures (0º / -18º) that stays  in the morning.

Altitude

Be exposed to significant changes in atmospheric pressure may produce health discomfort, like headaches, nausea and even be sick.
Beware because many of the excursions offered in San Pedro de Atacama takes place in the altiplano, over de 4.000 over sea level. Also when you arrive consider that the Calama altitude is 2.200 meters and San Pedro de Atacama is 2.450 meters.

The passenger must follow this health advices in order to travel to altitude.

1.- If you have some heart condition, hipertension or obesity, ask your dosctor before travel.
2.- Do not eat heavy food, meat or fried food..
3.- Avoid dehydratation, drink a lot of wather.
4.- Avoid to dring excessive alcoholic beverages.
